Hey y’all!
What a crazy week! Has anyone else felt the effects of the full moon? When you work with and around children, you can always tell when it’s a full moon … without looking at the night sky or the calendar.
Thank God the weekend is here. Can’t wait for Sue’s sale and the Crafter’s sidewalk sale!! Woohoo!!!!
Meantime, I wanted to share my most recent project with you guys. A couple of months ago, I bought this darling retro piece, a rocking loveseat at the Sal-Army. I loved the structure and design of this unusual piece … but it needed some TLC. Also, the cushions were this gawd-awful puke-green color but I knew I could ditch them or cover them (I did both).
Last weekend, the planets and stars aligned (I had the strength, time, motivation and creative juices all at one time) and I finally got to work on it. With absolutely no forethought (as Sue says, “I don’t think, I just DO!”), I began with a paint brush and a bucket of “antique white” paint.
Finished up with Goodwill bargain barn-acquired curtains to cover the green seat cushions, valances for the skirt and pink fringe from Sue’s booth. Tossed the back cushions (yuckie yuck) and used two old bed pillows covered in yard sale-found (10 cents!!) pink pillowcases. Tied a couple of bows on each side and lay a lovely throw pillow from Sue as the final touch.
The total make-over, including the actual loveseat itself, was under $20. Put it on my front porch next to a sweet little glass-top, rusty table from Sue’s booth and then hung some adorable little garden chandies over it.
Am very pleased (and surprised!) with the results. Now … on to the pictures!
Love and hugs to all!
