what do you get when you cross the FAGs with an Elvis impersonator (i mean, elvis TRIBUTE ARTIST)?!
a hunka hunka burnin’ FUN!!
if it’s wednesday nights at giovanni’s in copperas cove, tx, then it’s ELVIS night! pal and fellow FAG bonnie was already an elvis-night veteran and wanted the rest of us to experience him. i mean … it. the show.
before the concert, “elvis” welcomed me to the show and i promptly told him i was an “elvis impersonator concert virgin”. whaaa?! where did that come from?!
he asked, “what are you?” i guess the noise of the restaurant kept him from hearing my comment. but could i just leave it alone?! no. i could not.
i replied, “i’m a virgin.” WTF?! then i added quickly, “of elvis impersonator concerts.” sigh. let me try one more time: “i’ve never been to an elvis impersonator concert.” geez.
well, the virgin part didn’t seem to bother him. he quickly proceeded to explain to me that he doesn’t like to be called an elvis “impersonator”. he prefers “elvis tribute artist” … because no one can truly BE elvis, blahblahdiddyblahblah.
okay. strike one for terry lee. the concert hadn’t even started and i’d already insulted elvis. criminy.
i apologized profusely and even promised to shine his blue suede shoes (haha) … then he went on his merry way to change into full elvis gear in the restaurant bathroom.
let. the. show. BEGIN!
it was a total blast! elvis (aka johnny memphis, aka “i could tell you his real name but then i’d have to kill you”) his gorgeous self was QUITE the showman. ohmy! even though i’ve never seen an elvis tribute artist in person, i’d seen plenty on tv and the internet. this guy is one of THE BEST. he not only looks the part, but his voice is practically dead-on elvis.
since it’s a small venue, “elvis” walked around and interacted a lot with his audience. naturally, he gave OUR table quite a bit of attention. who could resist three middle-aged FAGs (aka mature, beautiful women)?!
okay, fine. my gorgeous 26 year old daughter (tara) might have been the reason too.
anyway, took lots of pic and videos which i want to share with you. hope you enjoy them as much as we enjoyed the experience. and if you’re in central texas … GO see him at giovanni’s (yummy italian food!) in cove on a wednesday night.
