Hey Y’all!

There’s a cracked little bird egg on my front walk today. I assume it fell out of its nest in the tree.

I know life goes on, but as I’m sitting here, listening to the birds chirp outside my front window, I can’t help but wonder about the mama bird. Is she missing her lost egg/baby?

Birds probably don’t have the capacity for emotions or deep thoughts, but I’d like to believe that because she’s a mama, she must feel some sense of loss.

Too romantic an idea? Well, maybe Mama Bird doesn’t even realize one of her eggs fell out (she does have a bird-brain after all) … or worse, maybe the old bird thought 3 eggs were too much to handle and nudged one over the nest’s edge.

So much for personification of the bird … sometimes my mind just goes off on these tangents. I guess it’s a good thing we’re not mama birds. I’d have trouble feeding my babies already-chewed-up worms! But if I were a bird, I’m certain I’d be grieving (loudly, over all the other birds) my one lost egg.

Anyway … here are some more random pics from around my home.

Hi again!

Wow! This is soooo much fun … meeting “kindred spirits” (thanks, Sue and Oliveoyl!) of the shabby chic/vintage world!

I’ve always loved antiquing and junking … but aside from my shopping pals, I’ve never really networked with others who share my passion. It’s great …. I LOVE it!!

It’s lump day at my house. That’s what my daughter used to call Wednesdays (hump-day) when she was little. She ALWAYS mixed up her words (as kids are wont to do). Funny how things like that stick around in a family … she’s 25 now and we still say LUMP DAY. 🙂

Lately, everyday’s been lump day for me. Recovering from a hysterectomy is a b*tch! It’s frightfully boring, just sitting around being the patient (as a nurse, I make an especially horrible patient)! But at least now I have something semi-productive to do with my time. haha!

Here are some more lovelies just sitting around my house looking adorable. All, or most, are Sweet Sue’s creations. (vintagesue.wordpress.com … eventually I’ll learn how to insert a REAL link here … sheesh!)

Whew! I have LOTS more pics but this is getting incredibly long. More tomorrow!

Till then! 🙂

Okay, can’t resist … here’s my hubby getting ready for his daily run. He’s not much into the shabby chic/vintage business … he actually dared to put his WEIGHTS on my chenille-covered loveseat!!! ARGHHH … MEN!!! 🙂

Hey there! I’m not sure the “world” is reading, but that’s the title I suppose everyone gets for their first blog.

A little about me … I’m a mother of three (Alan, 27, Tara, 25, Matt, 14), a school nurse (RN) by trade, and wife of my best friend, Ben.

IF I could make a living out of it, I’d love to open an antique/vintage junk shop! I adore shabby chic, vintage items and like to make my own creations from vintage treasures. Sometimes they turn out pretty cool … sometimes like crap. I never know!

We’ll see how this works out … I’d like to post wonderful pictures of my crafting/shabby chic/vintage projects in the future, but for now, I’ll just share with you some creations that I’ve purchased from a wonderfully talented lady named Sue (http://vintagesue.wordpress.com) and are now proudly displayed in my home.

Thanks for visiting!
